Quiet, Structured Sessions & Neuroinclusive Space

At Purrfect Café, we believe everyone deserves a place where they feel they belong.

Book a visit

Some people can walk into a busy café without giving it a second thought. For others, it can take enormous courage. New places, unfamiliar people, noise, sensory overload or simply the worry of being judged can make something as simple as going for a coffee feel like a huge step. We understand that.

That’s why being ASD-friendly isn’t just a label we put on our website. It’s something we genuinely care about and something we work hard to put into practice every day.

At Purrfect Café, we believe that everyone deserves to feel welcome, comfortable and accepted. We’re proud to be an ASD-friendly café, creating a calm, supportive and non-judgmental environment where people can enjoy their time at their own pace.

Our team is well-trained to understand and support customers with different needs, including those who are autistic or have sensory sensitivities. We understand that everyone experiences the world differently, and we never expect our customers to fit into a particular mould.

Whether you prefer a quieter space, need a little extra time, communicate differently, or want to enjoy your visit without feeling judged, you are welcome here. Our staff approach every customer with patience, kindness and understanding. We believe being accommodating isn’t about making assumptions; it’s about listening, respecting individual needs, and doing what we can to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

Most importantly, there is no judgement at Purrfect Café. You can be yourself, relax, enjoy some time with our cats and feel completely at ease. So whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth, whether you’re coming in for a coffee, some quiet time, or to sit with the cats for a while, from the moment you walk through our doors, you’re part of the Purrfect family. 💚

Come As You Are

So please know this: You belong here. You are welcome here. Come in as you are. Take your time. Be yourself. You don’t have to be anything other than you.

Quiet Reset Area

Sensory overload and meltdowns happen, and that is completely okay. We have created a dedicated, low-arousal Quiet Reset Room set completely away from the main cat lounge.

  • Zero Judgement & Zero Pressure: Step away at any moment during your visit—no explanations or permission needed.
  • Low-Sensory Environment: Soft dimmed lighting, quiet acoustics, and a cat-free sensory break space.
  • Take All The Time You Need: Rejoin the cat lounge whenever you feel ready, or end your visit peacefully.

Sensory Comfort Kit Included

Our Reset Area is equipped with clean, sanitized sensory aids available for free during your stay:

  • Noise-canceling ear defenders (adult & child sizes)
  • Clean tactile fidget tools & weighted lap pads
  • Fresh water & visual communication cards

Designed For Comfort & Inclusivity

Every detail of our cafe experience is thoughtful, accessible, and structured at a pace that suits you.

Low-Sensory Hours

We lower background music, dim artificial lights, and minimize noisy espresso machine sounds during quiet sessions.

Visual Menus & Cards

Picture-based visual menus and non-verbal communication cards are available at the counter to make ordering stress-free.

Processing Time

Never feel rushed. Our staff are trained to allow extra time for communication and processing without any pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know to plan a safe, stress-free visit.

What happens if my child or service user experiences a meltdown?

Please don't worry—you are in a safe, completely non-judgmental space. You can move directly to our private Quiet Reset Area away from the cat lounge at any time. Take all the time you need to decompress in soft lighting with noise-canceling headphones or tactile fidget tools. Our staff are trained to give you space and privacy without fuss.

How do I book a free Carer / Essential Companion ticket?

Simply select the "Disabled Guest + Free Essential Companion" ticket option during online booking. Upon arrival, present one official document (such as an Access Card with +1 symbol, CEA Card, or Carer's Allowance letter) to check in seamlessly.

Can we request a quiet table or specific corner in advance?

Yes! During booking checkout, simply leave a note in the comments field requesting a quiet corner, or drop us a quick email. We will reserve a table in a lower-traffic area of the lounge for your party.
