Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect when you book a visit or use our website, why we need it, and what control you have over it.

Last updated October 2026

Who we are

  • •PURRFECT CAFÉ runs this website, the online booking system and the cafe at 15 Montgomery Street, East Kilbride, G74 4JS.
  • •We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For anything to do with your information, email info@purrfect-cafe.com or call +44 (141) 721-0104 and ask for the manager.

What we collect

  • •Booking details: the name, email address and phone number you give us, the date and session you booked, how many adults, children, infants and carers you are bringing, any notes or special requests, and your confirmation number.
  • •Membership details: your name, email address, the plan you chose, and when it starts and renews.
  • •Visit and order history: the items ordered at your table, entry fees paid, vouchers used, loyalty points earned and redeemed, and who served you.
  • •Feedback: your rating, your comments if you leave any, and the booking they relate to.
  • •Messages you send us through the website contact form, by email or by phone.
  • •Website visits: the pages viewed, the device and browser type, and how you arrived at our site.

Card payments

  • •Card payments are processed by Stripe, our payment provider. Your full card number is never seen or stored by us.
  • •We keep a record of the amount, the date and a payment reference so we can match a payment to a booking, refund it if we need to, and keep our accounts in order.

Why we use it

  • •To take and manage your booking, hold your table and check you in on arrival.
  • •To send your confirmation, your reminder before the visit, and any changes to your booking.
  • •To take payment, refund where the booking policy allows, and record the entry fees that support the care of our cats.
  • •To run memberships, vouchers and loyalty points.
  • •To answer your questions and deal with a complaint.
  • •To keep the cafe safe: allergies and special requirements you tell us about, plus an incident record if something happens during a visit.
  • •To keep our accounts, insurance and legal records.
  • •To understand which sessions and menu items guests enjoy, so we can improve the cafe.
  • •To send you news and offers, but only if you have opted in.

Marketing and consent

  • •Confirmation, reminder and receipt emails are part of the service you booked and are always sent to the person who booked.
  • •Marketing emails are optional. You opt in when you book, when you join as a member, or when you ask us to add you.
  • •Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect straight away and we keep a short record of your opt-out so that we do not contact you again by mistake.

Who we share it with

  • •Stripe, to take and refund card payments.
  • •Our email delivery provider, to send confirmations, reminders and any marketing you have opted into.
  • •Base44, the platform that hosts our website, booking system and the records described above, on our instructions.
  • •Professional advisers, HMRC, insurers, or the police where the law requires it, or where we need to protect our guests, our staff or our cats.
  • •We never sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

  • •Booking, order and payment records: up to 6 years, for tax, accounting and insurance.
  • •Membership and loyalty records: while your membership is active and for 2 years after it ends.
  • •Feedback: up to 3 years, and we review it each year.
  • •Marketing records: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • •Website visit records: 12 months.

Cookies and site analytics

  • •We use the storage a browser provides to keep your booking and member sign-in working, and to remember the choices you make in the booking flow.
  • •We also record basic visit information (which pages are viewed, the type of device, and how you reached us) so we can see what guests find useful. It is not used to build a profile of you for advertising.
  • •You can clear or block this storage in your browser settings, but parts of the booking flow may then stop working.

Keeping it secure

  • •Access to guest information is limited to staff accounts with the permissions their role needs, and each staff account has its own password.
  • •Card details are handled only by Stripe. We do not store them anywhere in our systems.

Your rights

  • •You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, ask us to delete it where we do not have to keep it, and object to or restrict how we use it.
  • •To make a request, email us and we will reply within one month. We may need to confirm who you are before we act.
  • •If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would much rather you spoke to us first so we can put it right.

Children

  • •Bookings must be made by an adult. We hold a child's details only as part of the party that booked, so that we can charge the right entry fee and keep everyone safe.
  • •If you would like a child's details removed once the visit is over, email us and we will remove them, unless we need to keep them for an incident or insurance record.

Changes to this policy

  • •If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date shown at the top. The version published here is the one that applies.
